Saying Goodbye to the TentBox

In 2019 Shannon and I decided to buy a TentBox rooftop tent. It was our first major purchase together and represented a serious commitment to build a life together where camping and being outside was a focal point.

We took it on three major road trips across the United States. The first two where it lived on top of my Chevrolet Equinox (a bad idea) and the last one where it fit much more neatly on top of my Toyota 4Runner. It served as our sleeping quarters in the sweltering heat of Arizona, the downpouring rain of Maine, and the frigid temperatures of Colorado at 11,000 ft above sea level.

At the time it was a great buy. Zero regrets. But we are going in a new direction and building out the 4Runner in a new way to better fit our current needs. If you are interested in a used, hard-shell rooftop tent, do let me know!
