World’s Longest Bucket List

World’s Longest Bucket List

I scribbled the original version of this list in 2007 at the age of 14.  It has gone through many revisions over the years as I’ve considered what it means to “live a bucket list”.

There came a point where I decided this is not a list of things I need to do before I die.  I always found that concept slightly morbid.

This is a list of things that will make me happy.  Some of the things on this list will challenge my physically, mentally, and emotionally.  But everything on this list will give me at least some degree of joy or satisfaction.  That is important to me because I never want to be someone who is at a loss for something to do.  This list is all about ACTION.

My hope is that this list inspires you to take action in your own life.  The reason this list exists online is so that you can steal all my ideas and add them to your own bucket list. I’m serious, do it.  All I ask in return is that you tell me when you do something awesome, because those are my favorite stories.

My Personal Rules for this Bucket List:

1. I can add a new item at any time.

If I hear of a cool place or if someone tells me about an awesome adventure, BAM it goes on the list.

2. I can add an item to the list and immediately cross it off.

Often the best experiences in life happen unexpectedly without planning. If that happens, BAM that also goes on the list.

3. I can remove an item at any time.

Life changes. Priorities change. If I see something on this list that no longer interests me in any way, it immediately goes away.

4. I cannot get upset if I fail to accomplish everything on this list.

This list represents all my ambitions in life. I’m a really ambitious person and I acknowledge to cross everything off this list is an enormous undertaking. This list is to help me reach my goals. It will not stand as a reminder of my failures.
