If you’ve spent any time on this site you’ve probably wondered who I am. If so, this page will help answer that question.
I’m a regular 23-year-old guy living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During the day I work at a prestigious marketing agency that gives me opportunities to work with some of the biggest and most well-known companies and brands in the world. I love my job, and that’s probably for the best seeing as I dropped out of college to take it.
But long before I got to this point, a series of decisions and life events led me here. Truthfully, this page is more for me to understand just how far I’ve come – so apologies as it most likely comes across as bragging.
My story since 1993 (the year I was born):
Roadtripping (1998 – 2006) Parents took my sister and I on epic month long road trips every summer to explore all across America. This inspires me.
The birth of a bucket list (2007) I sat down and wrote what I believe to have been the world’s longest bucket list. This guides me.
The Mountain Challenge begins (2012) Embark on a long-term quest to climb the highest mountain in all 50 states and all 59 National Parks. This challenges me.
The Dropout (2015) Frustrated with not feeling challenged by college, I drop out and start working full-time. This enlightens me.
Why is everyone unhappy? (2016) In talking to my peers I begin to realize that far too many people feel stuck in their life and don’t know how to pursue something bigger and maybe better. This irritates me.
EvanNickel.com is conceived (January 2017) The goal is simple: help people discover how to live life to the fullest one day at a time.
What isn’t listed above is all the times I epically failed at so many things year after year. The stress, the anxiety, the sleepless nights, they all become mainstays in my life for many years. Yet none of those factors dampened my desire to live a remarkable life that I could truly be proud to call mine.
So here I am, inspired, motivated, and eager to help you do the same thing.
